Thịt bò thái mỏng. Gừng gọt vỏ, thái sợi. Tỏi băm nhuyễn. Ướp thịt bò với gừng, tỏi cùng với 1/2 muỗng cà phê muối, 1 muỗng cà phê tiêu, 1 muỗng cà phê bột ớt và 1/2 muỗng canh nước mắm trong 15 phút cho thịt bò thắm. Cùng lúc ướp thịt bò thì bạn cho giá đỗ vào tô nước muối ngâm 10 phút rồi xả lại nước lạnh nhiều lần cho sạch.
Làm nóng 1 muỗng canh dầu ăn, cho thịt bò đã ướp vào xào khoảng 1-2 phút cho thịt bò vừa chín tới. Thêm vào 1 tô nước nóng (nước lạnh cũng được nhưng thời gian nấu sẽ lâu hơn), 3 lá rong biển. Đợi khi canh sôi lên thì cho giá đỗ vào. Nêm nếm cho vừa ăn. Rắc thêm hành ngò nếu thích.
